Kayak + Stand-Up Paddleboard Course
Welcome to a 90-minute adventure designed to help you build confidence and skills on the water, whether you’re in a kayak or on a stand-up paddleboard. We’ll kick off the session with introductions, a safety overview, and a gear check to make sure everyone is comfortable and ready to roll. Then, on land, we’ll cover the basics—proper paddle grip, balance techniques, and tips to help you stay upright (or make the most of a fun fall into the water).
Once everyone’s warmed up, we’ll hit the water and split into two groups. Kayakers will focus on smooth strokes, turning, and controlled stops, while SUP paddlers will practice transitioning from kneeling to standing and maintaining balance… and lots of games with aims. Personalized feedback and lots of encouragement from our team will keep you motivated as you learn. Everyone will have a chance to try out kayaking and paddleboarding.
Next up, it’s time to put those skills to the test with a friendly paddle relay race, blending teamwork, laughter, and a little competition.
After the race, we’ll dive into an adventure challenge by navigating a short obstacle course. You’ll practice quick turns, paddling in light currents, and recovery techniques, with a partner exercise to help sharpen your communication and teamwork.
We’ll finish with a relaxed paddle back to shore, followed by a group reflection on what you learned and what surprised you.
To wrap it up, we’ll share upcoming opportunities for more adventures and, of course, take some well-earned high-fives.
