SkateWelcome to Camp Outpost’s comprehensive pathway into Skateboarding
Skate Term at Camp Outpost is built around progression, style, and access—using skateboarding as both a skill set and a growth tool. Our program emphasizes surf skate and transition riding in bowls and ramps, helping participants develop flow, edge control, pumping technique, and spatial awareness. Here, skateboarding becomes more than recreation—it becomes a platform for belonging, personal growth, and long-term engagement in the outdoor and skate industries.

Inside Skate TermSkate Term is built around intentional skill development and inclusive access—using skateboarding as both a sport and a growth tool. Our program emphasizes surf skate and transition riding in bowls and ramps, helping participants develop flow, balance, pumping technique, spatial awareness, and confidence in shared skate environments.
Every session follows a professional coaching framework that blends technical instruction with purpose-driven games—turning play into progress and repetition into resilience. Whether a rider is stepping on a board for the first time or refining transition skills, Skate Term meets participants where they are and gives them a clear pathway forward.
Learn more:
-
Participants learn carving, weight transfer, and board control through surf skate techniques that build balance and rhythm. This track develops the fundamentals that translate across all skate disciplines—creating confident movers who understand flow, not just tricks.
-
Skate Term places strong emphasis on riding transitions—bowls, mini ramps, and pump tracks. Riders learn pumping for speed, line choice, spatial awareness, and how to navigate shared park features safely and respectfully.
-
Each session includes games with intention—designed to build confidence, teamwork, and persistence. Activities are aligned with skill goals so every challenge reinforces technique, mindset, and leadership.

Community Days are how Skate Term keeps the momentum going. These special events invite Skate Term alumni to come back with a plus-one—or bring two or three friends—to ride together, reconnect with coaches, and welcome new faces into the community.
Each Community Day blends skating with connection: potluck-style BBQs, free demos, and open sessions designed to feel less like a program and more like a gathering. It’s our way of turning progress into culture—where skills are shared, friendships grow, and access to skateboarding keeps expanding long after the term ends.
Community Days aren’t just a perk—they’re part of the pathway. They create continuity, build leadership among returning riders, and help new participants see what’s possible when opportunity is met with belonging.
