WINTER TERM
PROGRESSION

A six-week pathway from first slide to confident park rider.

Winter Term is built around a structured, six-week progression delivered through our Mobile Dry-Snow Park—bringing professional snowboarding instruction directly to schools and community sites. Using modular ramps, features, and adaptive terrain, each cohort moves through a clearly defined learning pathway that builds skill, confidence, and community—week by week.

Weeks 1–2 | Foundations
Participants learn stance, balance, and safe falling techniques while building comfort on board. Coaches introduce edge awareness, glide control, and movement patterns that set the stage for progression. Dry-snow ramps allow riders to practice in a controlled environment where repetition builds confidence fast.

Weeks 3–4 | Flow & Control
Riders begin linking movements—learning pumping technique, speed management, and basic transitions on ramps and rollers. Instruction expands to include park flow, spatial awareness, and etiquette, helping participants understand how to move safely and confidently in shared riding spaces.

Weeks 5–6 | Terrain Park Progression
Participants enter the Park phase—where skill meets application. Using scaled features and modular elements, riders work on approach lines, feature awareness, and controlled pop and landing mechanics. The focus isn’t just tricks—it’s confidence, decision-making, and learning how to progress responsibly.

Inside Winter Term
  • Snowshoeing expands Winter Term beyond the board, offering an accessible way to build endurance, environmental awareness, and confidence in winter terrain. Guided outings focus on navigation basics, outdoor preparedness, and seasonal ecology—helping participants develop comfort in cold-weather landscapes while strengthening teamwork and leadership through shared exploration.

  • Our STEM Snow Science track connects winter recreation to real-world learning. Participants explore how temperature, moisture, and timing affect snow quality—then apply that knowledge to understand optimal terrain park build windows and riding conditions. Through hands-on snow labs, riders study snowpack layers, weather patterns, and surface friction, turning science into a tool for smarter riding, safer parks, and deeper respect for winter environments.

  • Winter Term integrates leadership skills into every session. Through peer mentorship, group challenges, and reflection moments, participants practice communication, decision-making, and accountability. This track is especially valuable for schools and partner organizations seeking programming that builds social-emotional growth alongside technical skill.

  • Accessibility is built into Winter Term. Our adaptive coaching methods, flexible equipment options, and inclusive instruction model—ensuring participants of all abilities can engage meaningfully. Partners can collaborate with our team to tailor programming to their community’s needs while maintaining safety and progression standards.

  • This track introduces participants to the fundamentals of terrain park design, flow, engineering, and etiquette. Riders learn how features are built, how lines are shaped, and how to move responsibly in shared park spaces. The result is not just better riding—but safer, more informed participants who understand the culture and responsibility that comes with park progression.

  • Not every group needs a full six-week term. Our One-Time Clinics offer a high-impact introduction to snow sports through a 60–90 minute mobile experience. These sessions include professional instruction, access to our Loaner Gear Library, and a condensed version of our progression model—perfect for school enrichment days, community events, or partner activations looking for immediate engagement without long-term scheduling.

No gear? No sweat.
Our outdoor gear library has you covered.

We remove one of the biggest barriers to winter participation—equipment—so every athlete can focus on learning, growing, and having fun.

Winter Term participants have access to:

  • Snowboards in a full range of youth and adult sizes

  • Snowboard boots fitted for comfort and performance

  • Helmets that meet safety standards for every rider

  • Winter outerwear including jackets, snow pants, and gloves

  • Snowshoes for winter exploration and off-board programming

All gear is professionally maintained, properly fitted, and included as part of our commitment to accessible, inclusive programming—ensuring every participant starts with the right tools and the confidence to use them.
