Miller Park Water Term Course

Miller Park Summer Water Term
Weekly 1-Hour Water Term Sessions

Camp Outpost’s Water Term is a multi-week outdoor education course built to help scholars move from first exposure to real confidence on the water.

For the Miller Park Summer Term, scholars will meet weekly for one-hour sessions rooted in our Water Term curriculum, which blends ACA-informed kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding instruction with water safety, environmental learning, teamwork, and outdoor confidence-building.

Each week builds on the last. Scholars learn how to properly wear and check a PFD, understand basic paddle strokes, practice launching and landing, develop balance and boat awareness, read wind and water conditions, and build the kind of decision-making skills that carry beyond the shoreline. The goal is not just to try something once. The goal is to create a pathway into outdoor sport where scholars feel capable, safe, and invited back.

This course is part of Camp Outpost’s larger commitment to closing the Nature Gap through consistent access, skilled coaching, loaner gear, and programs designed for youth and communities who deserve more entry points into the outdoors.

This Miller Park Water Term is currently full.

We are still booking additional Water Term and Summer Term partner programs. If you are a nonprofit, school, youth program, or community organization looking to bring your group out for weekly kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, water safety, and outdoor STEM programming this summer, email us right away to try to secure a spot on the summer calendar.
